Pi-hole’s installation system is just bunch of automatically working shell scripts, and is not suited to distribution usage as is. This package has some features removed, most notably auto updates and reconfiguration. Hence, some manual work is necessary in order to get Pi-hole working as needed. Howto ----- 1. Configure /etc/pihole/setupVars.conf 2. Set caps for FTL: modify /etc/permissions.d/pihole-ftl and run chkstat --system. 3. Run pihole -g to update data 4. Start FTL: systemctl start pihole-ftl
